The FRT-15C3 is Rare Breed Triggers’ two-stage, 3-position forced reset trigger for the AR-15 — a drop-in trigger that pairs a crisp two-stage semi pull with forced-reset speed, while still firing one round per trigger pull. Within the complete Rare Breed FRT collection, it is the choice for shooters who want a defined two-stage wall in semi mode.

Legality: the FRT-15C3 fires a single round per pull and, after the May 2025 DOJ settlement, is not a machine gun under federal law. State and local laws vary, so check yours before purchase. You must be of legal age and eligible under federal, state, and local law to purchase.

In Semi mode you get a genuine two-stage pull: roughly 2.5 lb of take-up into a crisp wall that breaks with about 2 lb more pressure, for a smooth 4–4.5 lb total. In Forced Reset mode it shifts to a 5–5.5 lb single-stage pull. As one of the most precise forced reset triggers we stock, its 3-position ambidextrous selector covers Safe, Semi and Forced Reset for both left- and right-handed shooters.

The C3 is machined from 7075 anodized aluminum and heat-treated S7 tool steel, a shock-resistant grade chosen for durability under hard use. It installs on MIL-SPEC AR-15 lowers with anti-walk pins, requires a full-auto-compatible BCG, and runs best with an H2/H3 or A5 buffer. It may not fit certain Colt models or sear-block lowers.
