The FRT-15L3 is Rare Breed Triggers’ single-stage, 3-position forced reset trigger for the AR-15 — a duty-grade, drop-in trigger that resets itself after every shot while still firing one round per trigger pull. It is the refined flagship of the Rare Breed FRT-15 family, adding a Safe/Semi/Forced-Reset ambidextrous selector to the original design.

Is the FRT-15L3 legal? Yes. It fires a single round for each pull of the trigger, and following the May 2025 DOJ settlement, forced reset triggers of this type are not classified as machine guns under federal law. State and local laws vary, so confirm yours before purchase. You must be of legal age and eligible under federal, state, and local law to purchase.

In Semi mode the FRT-15L3 gives you a clean, single-stage 4–4.5 lb pull that breaks like a quality match trigger. Flip to Forced Reset mode and the same single-stage feel carries a slightly heavier 5.5–6 lb pull, resetting the instant the bolt carrier returns to battery for fast, controlled follow-up shots. The L3 is machined from 7075 anodized aluminum and heat-treated 4140 steel, weighs about 5 oz, and installs on MIL-SPEC AR-15 lowers with the included anti-walk pins. It needs a full-auto-compatible bolt carrier group and runs best with an H2 or H3 buffer (or an A5 system). Note: it may not fit certain Colt models or lowers with a sear block/shelf.
